SCHOOL QUIZ Community is committed to protecting your privacy and processing any personal data responsibly. We comply fully with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (EU) 2016/679, the ePrivacy Directive, and other applicable data protection laws (including relevant principles for US users under CalOPPA where applicable).
This Privacy Policy explains what (if any) personal data we collect, how we use it, the legal bases for processing, who we share it with, your rights, and how to contact us. Our site is designed for anonymous educational use—no accounts, logins, or personal data required to take quizzes.

2. Personal Data We Collect We collect very minimal data because quizzes are fully anonymous:
- Voluntarily provided by you: Name and email (plus any message content) only when using the Contact form. No data is collected during quiz play—no registration, no names, no emails, no scores tied to individuals.
- Automatically collected (technical/server logs): IP address, browser type/version, operating system, device info, referring URL, date/time of access, pages visited, quiz interactions (e.g., which quizzes accessed, general usage patterns). These are pseudonymized/anonymized where possible and used solely for site security, functionality, and aggregated analytics (no individual profiling).
- Cookies & Similar Technologies: We currently do not use cookies, trackers, or pixels for advertising, analytics, or personalization. If we introduce essential cookies (for site performance) or non-essential ones (e.g., future AdSense), we will:
- Update this policy,
- Add a cookie consent banner (with granular opt-in),
- Comply with GDPR Article 7 (consent) and ePrivacy rules.
- No special/sensitive data: We never collect health, racial/ethnic origin, political opinions, religion, or any special category data under GDPR Article 9.
3. How We Collect Data

- Automatically via server logs and browser requests. We do not buy, receive, or collect data from third parties.

We do not process data for marketing, profiling, automated decisions (Art. 22), or selling personal data.
5. Children’s Privacy (Important) Our quizzes target school students, including children under 16 (and potentially under 13). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Quiz usage is completely anonymous—no personal identifiers are collected or stored during play.
- If you are under 16 (or under 13 in some jurisdictions), please do not submit any personal information via contact form without parental/guardian involvement.
- Parents/guardians: If you believe we have inadvertently collected data about your child, contact us immediately at contact@schoolquiz.co—we will delete it without delay. This site is not directed at children under 13 in a way that requires verifiable parental consent under COPPA (US) or equivalent rules.
6. Data Sharing & Recipients We do not sell, trade, or share personal data for marketing/advertising.
- Processors: Hosting provider and (if used) basic analytics tools may access anonymized logs under strict data processing agreements (DPA).
- Legal requirements: Disclosure if compelled by law, to protect rights/safety, or enforce policies. No international transfers outside the EEA currently occur. If any future tools involve transfers (e.g., US-based), we will use Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.
7. Data Retention We keep data only as long as necessary:
- Contact form messages: Up to 12 months (or longer only if needed for follow-up).
- Server logs: 6–12 months for security purposes.
- Anonymized/aggregated stats: Indefinitely (no re-identification possible). Data is securely deleted or irreversibly anonymized afterward.
8. Your Rights Under GDPR You have the following rights (free, unless manifestly unfounded/excessive):

To exercise any right, email contact@schoolquiz.co with sufficient proof of identity if needed. We respond within 1 month (extendable to 3 months for complex cases).
9. Security We use reasonable technical and organizational measures: secure hosting, access controls, regular security reviews, and malware scanning. However, no internet transmission is 100% secure—contact us immediately if you suspect a breach.
10. Changes to This Policy We may update this policy (e.g., if features or laws change). Changes are posted here with a new “Last updated” date. Significant changes will be highlighted via a site notice.
11. Additional Disclosures (Including Newsletter/Comments, Cookies, Third Parties, Google/AdSense) We collect information from you when you subscribe to a newsletter or enter information on our site. When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture might be visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Do we use ‘cookies’? We do not use cookies for tracking purposes. You can choose to have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can choose to turn off all cookies through your browser settings (check your browser’s Help Menu for instructions). If you turn cookies off, some features that make your site experience more efficient may not function properly.
Third-party disclosure We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your Personally Identifiable Information unless we provide users with advance notice. This does not include website hosting partners and other parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or serving our users, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also release information when its release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others’ rights, property, or safety. However, non-personally identifiable visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses.
Third-party links We do not include or offer third-party products or services on our website.
